What is your role here at Berkshire Bank?

My Banker; Business Banking Liaison

How do you define an essential employee? What is the most important part of the role?

Someone who provides a critical service in a time of need.

What roles and/or tasks do you enjoy most about your position?

Getting to know people and businesses like they are my own and becoming their trusted advisor. Clients know I will look at their whole picture to make sure I have offered the best solution for their needs. Working with the team to provide guidance and support with business lending.

What is the most important lesson you were taught about money? Who taught this to you?

Always budget. Half the battle is knowing what is coming in and out of your account every month. You should also have a savings reserve and credit available to you in case of emergencies. Its better to apply for credit when times are good rather then when bad.

Being an essential worker definitely had its good and bad times. Can you recall a moment or customer experience that made you feel proud to be an EW?

We had a church/school that was a staple in the community. Their bank would not take their PPP loan even though they were a long standing customer. I was able to complete their PPP loan and have funded about a week or two before they would have likely gone under. It felt great to make an impact knowing we helped the community keep an important pillar.
