Throughout the month of May we honored the celebration of Small Business Month. As we move forward in the building of our community, we are excited to continue to uplift the small businesses in our network.

This week we are honoring Susan Lederman and her company P’zaz.

Can you tell us a bit more about your company?

P’zazz is owned and operated by a woman and specializes in unique and custom personalized gifts and promotional giveaways. Our goal is to create items that make a lasting impression while working within our clients’ budgets. We can deliver: • Inexpensive gifts for those on a tight budget • Intricate individual requests for those with an unlimited budget • One item requests • Gifts for bridal parties and other special events • Large quantities for events for major corporations and charities/not-for-profits. • Custom embroidery, imprinting and etching

What’s something your company has worked on that you’re most proud of? Why does this part of the work resonate with you the most?

I chaired and provided promotional items to the annual WRAP Luncheon benefiting the Channel 3 Kids Camp for 5 years. I believe giving back to the community is very important and rewarding.

What was your first job? What did you love most about it?

I was in fashion when I decided to start P’zazz. I loved working with clients to help them make many outfits out of one by changing their accessories including creative use of scarves.

What is the most important piece of advice you have been given about money and/or owning a business? Who gave it to you?

Jim Gordon, now retired from the Salvation Army of Southern New England, told me not to be shy about promoting my business and showing off the unique things I have to offer clients.

How would you say your company/organization positively impacts the community?

As the daughter of Holocaust survivors, I feel it is very important to give back. I have done a lot of work with non-profits to help them promote their missions including donating special items for their events.

How can people best support you during these times?

Think of me when you need a gift — wedding, baby, birthday, graduation. I can help you make a difference while also meeting your budget. I specialize in custom embroidery, imprinting and etching to personalize the most reasonable or most expensive gift. I always encourage people to think about personalizing something small to put a check or a gift card into, for instance.
