March honors Women’s History Month and we are excited to highlight all of the dynamic women in our Power of Women Employee Resource Group to draw attention to the deliberate action that we are taking as a group & as an institution to empower & uplift the women in our community. Our goal is to be leaders & mentors at Berkshire Bank, and to also model a system of uplift & support for our entire Berkshire Bank community & the banking world at large.

How do you define a leader?

Motivating and inspiring others to become their best version of themselves to achieve goal

Who is your “Shero” one of the biggest influencers/mentor in your life and career? Why?

Several leaders have inspired me in different ways — I think its important to understand who an individual is and use the tools ( skill set) that they have provided when the circumstance is right. I respect all leaders — They are in their position for a reason. Someone saw something in the individual — its my job to learn increase my skill set

Can you recall a defining moment when you were mentored by your Shero or another woman? What did that experience teach you?

Several years ago when presenting an issue to my supervisor — I was unprepared with what I thought the solution should be. I was challenged to return to my office and really think about the problem — I came back with the solution- Key learning and increased problem solving skills — which I have taught many others my experience. empowering

How do you celebrate the women in your life?

Empowering younger women to be the best that they can be by sharing personal stories of a similar experience.

Where do you find your power?

The power of positivity is amazing — this drives me daily! Reading and speaking to people everyday also drives me to be the best version of myself

The Power of Women (POW) employee resource group is a safe space for all people who identify as female and their allies. The goal of this ERG is to support women in the workplace by suggesting programming including mentoring and coaching, reviewing corporate communication efforts, elevating important topics to management and organizing celebratory events.
