Employee Spotlight: Dai Ingalls
Electronic Banking Security & Fraud Specialist of Pittsfield, MA
What inspired you to join the Employee Volunteer Council?
I was inspired to join the Employee Volunteer Council after volunteering at multiple events when I first became employed here, over seven years ago. I have never worked for a company that has such a strong focus on giving back to the community, and I wanted to be a part of that. There is such a great need in all of our communities, and I’m proud to work for a bank that not only recognizes that, but puts forth their best effort to serve those needs.
What has been your favorite or most memorable volunteer experience at Berkshire Bank, and why?
There are so many, it’s hard to choose just one! I really enjoy the NeXt Gen Scholars Application Reviews, the Money Matters Financial Literacy Workshop with Miss Hall’s School, and Read Across America Community Reading Day. But I would have to say my favorite is the Tour de Cure. It hits so close to home for me, since my son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. This fundraising cycling event benefits the American Diabetes Association for diabetes research. Plus, I absolutely love biking!
What’s a fun fact about you that your colleagues may or may not know?
I know many people are often confused about where my name originated from, and how it’s pronounced. It is pronounced like “day.” My mom came up with this name… she took my grandmother’s name, which was Ida, and switched the letters around! My name is also my initials!
